Never Miss a Scoop: Introducing X Feed Follower — Turn Tweets into Articles

Follow any X/Twitter handle — Fabrizio Romano, TechCrunch, your niche reporters — and AutoArticle AI will scout their latest posts, ask you to approve with one tap, and write the article. Zero extra cost with Perplexity sonar, Grok-ready via Vercel AI Gateway.

X Feed Follower turning breaking tweets into drafted articles with one-tap approval

Breaking News Breaks on X First. Now Your Site Does Too.

Every scoop — a Fabrizio Romano transfer update, a TechCrunch funding leak, a niche reporter’s thread — lands on X/Twitter hours before it hits RSS. If you wait for the feed, you’re second.

X Feed Follower (Pro) fixes that. Follow any handle, and your site scouts their latest posts every 15–30 minutes, filters for what's actually newsworthy, and either asks you with one tap or auto-covers it — back to back, without duplicates.

How It Works in 3 Steps

1. Follow a handle

Telegram: /feeds add @FabrizioRomano football ask 30

WordPress: AutoArticle Pro → 👁 X Feeds → add handle, pick agent (or Auto), choose mode and interval.

You can follow as many handles as you want — 10 feeds at 30 minutes is the sweet spot for most newsrooms.

2. We scout — you decide (or we auto-cover)

Every 15 minutes a server cron checks which feeds are due:

  • Scout: Perplexity sonar via Vercel AI Gateway ($0) pulls the handle's last 24h of notable posts. Grok Live Search via the gateway is one toggle away (native X search, ~$0.001/check) when you want X-grounded citations.
  • Dedup: same post hash + 48h topic overlap against what you already published — already-covered stories are skipped, not rewritten.
  • Ask mode (recommended): you get a Telegram card per story — "@FabrizioRomano: Here we go! …" [✅ Cover] [⏭ Skip] — one tap creates the article order. No polling your inbox.
  • Auto mode: the story dispatches immediately to your best-matching agent (or the one you chose).
Batch? Send 6 stories at once — cover_stories dispatches them back-to-back. The Pro queue now has a per-agent backlog (v2.4.69), so all six actually run, ~2.5 minutes apart, with a 10-minute safety net. Before this fix, six orders to one agent overwrote each other and only the last survived.

3. Articles appear as drafts → publish

The plugin poller picks up each order within ~5 seconds, sets the agent’s priority topic, and fires the run. You see the normal "📝 Draft created — Title | 800w | minimax-m3" card, plus the CEO’s X-feed approval toast.

Two Modes, Per Feed

ModeWhat happensBest for
askTelegram card per newsworthy post — approve or skipHigh-signal reporters (Fabrizio Romano, your beat writers) where you want editorial control
autoNewsworthy posts dispatch instantly — no tapHigh-volume topic feeds, overnight coverage, or when you trust the dedup
Switch anytime: /feeds mode @handle auto or from WP admin. Pause a feed without deleting it (active = false).

Cost — Built for Scale

  • Scout (ask/auto): sonar via gateway is $0 per check (Perplexity search tool, $5/1k requests — our batching keeps it under free-tier levels for most users). Grok Live Search via the gateway is $0.20/$0.50 per 1M tokens + citations — about $0.001–0.002/check, roughly $5–15/mo at 10 feeds.
  • Articles: Pro/Max pool is minimax-m3, $0 marginal — even past your 100/day cap (now 0-coin overage, v2.8.41).
  • Guardrails: 5 handles batched per call, 30-min minimum interval, max 5 items/feed/check, 100 scout calls/day cap with automatic sonar fallback.

Advanced Requests — The Full Loop

This ships together with the CEO Brain’s new advanced-request tools (v2.8.42):

  • Say "scout https://x.com/FabrizioRomano and cover the main developments" in Telegram or the WP command console — the CEO calls scout_source (sonar) then cover_stories (batch dispatch) in one turn. No "give me the green light?" — generation is not destructive, so it dispatches immediately.
  • Profile URLs no longer die on oEmbed — x.com/FabrizioRomano routes to scouting instead of "Extracting the tweet…"
Together: natural language → live source scan → dedup → human-in-loop card → back-to-back articles. That's the game-changer.

Getting Started

  • 1.Update Pro to v2.4.70 (and free to v2.5.331 for the model-proof lint fixes).
  • 2.Run the migration in Supabase SQL Editor: supabase/migrations/20260827_x_feeds.sql (creates x_feeds + x_feed_items).
  • 3.Add your first feed: /feeds add @FabrizioRomano football ask 30
  • 4.Wait one poll cycle (15 min) or nudge the cron — your first card arrives when he posts.
Manage from anywhere: Telegram /feeds (list/add/remove/mode) and WP Admin → AutoArticle Pro → 👁 X Feeds show the same data, including (+N queued) backlog counts.

Questions? The CEO Brain knows the whole setup — ask it "what X feeds am I following?" and it will list them.
